Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the naval Staff in the Republic of India arrived to Muscat Sunday on an official several-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The Indian guest and his accompanying delegation were received at Muscat International Airport by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman and a number of senior officers.
They were also received by the Indian Ambassador to the sultanate and the Defence Attaché at the Indian Embassy in Muscat, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
On Monday, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, SecretaryGeneral of the Ministry of Defence received in his office at AlMurtafaa Camp the Chief of the Naval Staff in the Republic of India. The two sides exchanged views on several military matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman, the Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate, Defence Attaché at the Indian Embassy in Muscat and the delegation accompanying the guest.
For his part, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) also received in his office at Al Murtafaa Camp Monday Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff in the Republic of India (photo) and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed fields of the existing maritime cooperation between the RNO and the Indian Navy, as well as exchanging views on several matters of common interests.
The meeting was attended by a number of the RNO senior officers and the Defence Attaché at the Indian Embassy in Muscat.
Lastly, Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received in his office at Al Murtafaa Camp Monday the visiting Chief of the Naval Staff in the Republic of India and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed means of enhancing the existing military cooperation between the armed forces of the two friendly countries and reviewed several matters of common interests.
The meeting was attended by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman, Air Commodore Nasser Said al-Sa’adi, Assistant SAF Chief of Staff for Training and Joint Exercises and the Defence Attaché at the Indian Embassy in Muscat.
Admiral Karambir Singh and his accompanying delegation, also visited the National Defense College (NDC).
Upon the guest’s arrival, he was received by Air Vice Marshal Saleh Yahya Al Maskari, NDC Commandant.
The guest and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the College’s facilities and equipment, as well as various departments and halls designed according to the latest specifications and equipped with the best educational systems, training aids and multi-purpose electronic network systems.
