Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received in his office at Al Murtafaa Camp in Muscat Wednesday (photo), Lt. General Eid Awad Al Shalawi, Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command (UMC).
The two sides exchanged views on enhancing the joint cooperation among GCC countries in military fields. They also reviewed military matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Manthri, Assistant to the SAF Chief-of-Staff for Operations and Planning, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary General at the Ministry of Defence also received in his office at Al Murtaffaa Camp Wednesday the visiting Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command (UMC) and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides exchanged cordial conversations and discussed matters of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).
Furthermore, Lt. General Eid Awad Al Shalawi, Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command (UMC) and his accompanying delegation went on tour of the Maritime Security Centre (MSC) at Al Murtafaa Camp.
The guest was accompanied by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).
Upon his arrival, the guest was received by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and Commodore Mohammed Hamoud Al Zadjali, Head of the MSC.
The guest viewed the modern devices and equipment used in supporting maritime security operations at the Centre. He was also briefed on the tasks and roles of the Centre in managing and leading operations of maritime security in terms of maritime hazards, mainly search and rescue operations and protecting the marine environment from various risks.
Lastly, theCommander of the GCC Unified Military Command (UMC) and his accompanying delegationvisited Friday the National Defense College (NDC) of Oman.
Upon the guest’s arrival, he was received by Air Vice MarshalSaleh Yahya Al Maskari, NDC Commandant.
The guest was briefed on the College’s facilities andequipment, as well as various departments and halls designed accordingto the latest specifications and equipped with the best educationalsystems, training aids and multi-purpose electronic network systems.
Afterwards, Lt. General Eid bin Awadh AlShalawi and his accompanyingdelegation left the Sultanate. He was seen off by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and senior SAF Officers.
