Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) received at his office in Al Murtafaa (photo) Garrison Thursday Air Marshal Joy Martin Sampson, Senior Advisor to the British Chief of Defense Staff for Middle East and North Africa.
The meeting was attended by UK Ambassador appointed to the Sultanate of Oman and the UK Trade Envoy for Oman.
For his part, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) also received the visiting Senior British Defense Advisor.
The meeting was attended by Commodore Tarik Issa Al Ra’eesi, Senior Staff Officer at RNO, the UK Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and the UK Trade Envoy for Oman.
During the meetings, the two sides exchanged views and discussed several matters of common interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Earlier, General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office received in his office in Muscat Air Marshal Joy Martin Sampson, Senior Advisor to the British Chief of Defense Staff for Middle East and North Africa.
The guest expressed his thanks and appreciation for Oman's role in promoting cooperation to achieve the joint interests. The two sides reviewed the historical, bilateral relations. They also discussed a range of matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by the British Ambassador appointed to the Sultanate of Oman and the delegation accompanying the guest.
Meanwhile, the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) concluded Thursday the naval drill “Assad Al Bahar 2” or “Sea Lion 2” for 2021 in Al Batinah coastal zone.
The drill which was held from 25 to 28 October 2021, saw the participation of RNO ship crews and with the support of aircrafts from the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).
The drill was part of RNO’s annual training plans, which aim to sustain preparedness in all fields.
In another development, Air Vice Marshal Eng. Saleh Yahya Al Maskari, Commandant of the National Defense College (NDC) received at Bait Al Falaj Garrison Thursday Bastien Lachaud, District Deputy of Seine-Saint-Denis and member of the National Defense and Armed Forces Committee of the French National Assembly.
The two sides exchanged views on matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by NDC senior officers and the delegation accompanying the French guest.
