Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC) of Oman received in Muscat a delegation from the United States Air Force Academy.
During the meeting (photo), the two sides discussed several matters of mutual of interest that are related to academic and training fields, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Members of the visiting delegation were briefed on the College’s facilities and equipment. They also toured its various departments and halls.
The meeting was attended by some strategic instructors at the NDC and the academic representative of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) at the NDC.
For his part, Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies also received in his office at Bait Al Falaj Garrison the visiting delegation from the United States Air Force Academy.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed several academic and training matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Nasser Abdullah Al Qutabi, Head of the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies at the Academy.

The meeting was attended by several NDC strategic instructors. The two sides discussed a range of topics of mutual interest. The delegation was also briefed on the NDC’s facilities and departments.

On 1 February 1986, His Majesty the Late King Hussein officially opened the Royal Jordanian War College and the first War College Course started in July1986.
Early in 2002, His Majesty directed that the War College be transformed into a Defense College. As a result, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff instructed that this transformation should be implemented within the time frame June 2002 - October 2003, the latter date being the opening of the first National Defense Course.
