US Military Academy Delegation Visits Sultanate of Oman

A delegation from the United States Military Academy at West Point today visited the National Defence College (NDC) in the Sultanate of Oman.

Upon the delegation’s arrival at the College, they were greeted by Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest, especially in academic and training fields, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The visiting delegation were also briefed on the College’s facilities and equipment. They also toured its various departments and halls that are designed according to the latest specifications and equipped with modern educational systems and training aids.

For his part, Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies also received at Bait Al Falaj Garrison the visiting delegation from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several academic and training matters of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by several high ranking officers from the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.

In another development, the Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies inspected the implementation of the annual strategic exercise ‘Al Hazm’ which is ongoing till 12 July 2023. Al Hazm is implemented by the Joint Staff and Command College.

This exercise comes within the framework of honing the skills of officers at the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and various other military and security units.

Al Hazm is implemented in parallel with the annual strategic exercise ‘Decision Making-10’, which is currently being implemented by the National Defence College
