Major General Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC) of Oman, accompanied by several senior officers, visited Sunday the Joint Command and Staff College (photo) to inspect the implementation of the annual military exercise “Al Hazm” which is conducted by the College’s 36th cohort.
Al Shidi and the senior officers were briefed on the exercise and its various stages.
Al Hazm is conducted within the framework of achieving the training goals of the Joint Command and Staff College, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Earlier, Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies also inspected on 05 Juy the implementation of the annual strategic exercise ‘Al Hazm’ which is ongoing till 12 July 2023.
Al Hazm is implemented by the Joint Staff and Command College and comes within the framework of honing the skills of officers at the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and various other military and security units.
Al Hazm is implemented in parallel with the annual strategic exercise ‘Decision Making-10’, which is currently being implemented by the National Defence College (NDC).
On 04 July, Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies visited the National Defence College (NDC) to inspect the implementation of the annual strategic exercise “Decision Making-10”.
The Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies and several senior officers were briefed on the annual strategic exercise. Participants also gave a presentation on the exercise and means of responding to various scenarios.
Activities of the annual strategic exercise “Decision Making-10” began at the National Defence College (NDC) on 02 July.
The exercise is carried out by the NDC tenth batch from various military, security and civil units.
The exercise aims to enhance the participants’ decision making on the strategic level, analysing the main strategic topics within simulated national, regional and international events.
“Decision Making-10” also targets striking a balance in utilizing the country’s resources to achieve the national interests, establishing harmony in utilizing tools of global powers and developing strategic thinking.
