Sultanate of Oman Receives British Army’s Chief of General Staff

Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received Tuesday General Sir Patrick Sanders, Chief of the General Staff of the British Army and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides reviewed area of military cooperation between the two countries. They also exchanged views on several topics of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Major Gen Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), senior COSAF Officers and the Defence Attaché of the UK Embassy in Muscat, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Meanwhile, Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) separately received the British guest (photo) and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, attended by senior RAO Officers, the two sides discussed a set of military topics of mutual interest.

For his part, General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office also received the Chief of the General Staff of the British Army and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the march of the historical relations binding the two countries and discussed a set of military topics of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) and the UK appointed-Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.

Lastly, General Sir Patrick Sanders, Chief of the General Staff of the British Army and his accompanying delegation visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC).

The guest was accompanied by Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO).

The guest and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the Centre in the safety of the maritime environment.

They toured the Centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties.
