Royal Navy of Oman Concludes “Sea Lion 2/2023” Drill

The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) began Wednesday the naval drill “Sea Lion 2/2023” in Al Batinah Naval Zone.

The naval drill, conducted with the support of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), concluded on 21 September 2023.

Many joint naval military activities between the participating ships and crews were carried out according to the set plan of the exercise, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Conducting this naval drill comes within the framework of the RNO training plans aimed at sustaining readiness of its fleet and personnel.

In another development, Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) met in Tehran Tuesday with Brigadier Kioumars Heidari, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force.

The meeting was held within the framework of RAO Commander’s official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by the military delegation accompanying the RAO Commander and the Military Attaché of the Omani Embassy in Tehran.
