Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raeesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Tuesday, Admiral Antony Radakin, Chief of the Defence Staff in the United Kingdom (photo).
The two sides exchanged views and discussed a set of military topics of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by senior COSAF officers and the UK Ambassador to Oman.
Earlier, General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office received also received the visiting Chief of the Defence Staff in the United Kingdom. The meeting discussed means of enhancing cooperation between Oman and the UK, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The two sides also touched on the current issues at the regional and international arenas. The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, the UK Ambassador to Oman and members of the delegation accompanying the guest.
In another development, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) received in his office Tuesday Rear Admiral Emmanuel Slaars, Commander of the French Forces in the Indian Ocean and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on several matters of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Commodore Jasim Mohammed Al Balushi, Director General of Operations and Plans. It was also attended by the Military Attaché of the French Embassy in Muscat and several senior RNO officers.
The French Commander and his accompanying delegation also visited the National Defence College (NDC) at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.
Upon the guests arrival at the College they were greeted by Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC. During this meeting, the two sides discussed several topics of common concern.
Afterwards, the Commander of the French Forces in the Indian Ocean gave a lecture in which he spoke about the responsibilities and the humanitarian and military roles of the joint French Forces in the Indian Ocean.
