Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met with Minister for Defence Procurement of the UK James Cartlidge (photo) and the accompanying delegation during his official visit to Qatar.
During the meeting, they discussed topics of common interest between the two sides and the ways to enhance and develop them.
The meeting was attended by Commander of the Amiri Air Force HE Major General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai and a number of senior officers from the Qatari Armed Forces, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
In another development, Lt. General Hazza Khalil Al Shahwani, Commander of the Emiri Guard of the State of Qatar and his accompanying delegation arrived to Muscat Monday on an official visit that lasts several days.
Upon his arrival, the Qatari Commander was greeted at Muscat International Airport by Major General Salim Ali Al Hosni, Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) and several RGO Senior Officers.
He was also received by the Ambassador of Qatar to Oman and the Military Attaché the Qatari Embassy in Muscat, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
On Tuesday, Major General Salim Ali Al Hosni, Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO), received in his office the visiting Commander of the Emiri Guard of the State of Qatar and his accompanying delegation.
This comes within the framework of attending the concluding live demonstration of the joint Oman-Qatar security drill “Ayn Al Saqr” or “Hawk Eye” 1/2023, which is conducted during the period from 17-27 September 2023.
The two sides reviewed several military and security matters of mutual interest. Senior Officers of the RGO and Qatar’s Emiri Guard attended the meeting.
