Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah in Doha on Tuesday.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation ties between the two countries and the avenues to reinforce them in a variety of fields, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

The meeting was attended by senior officials and officers of the Qatari armed forces. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs and his Kuwaiti counterpart paid a visit to Barood Ammunition Factory of the Armed Forces and Dukhan Airbase.

Barood Ammunition Factory is a 100% subsidiary of Barzan Holdings, an investment and strategic company fully owned by Qatar’s Ministry of Defense, that aims to provide a reliable supply of high-quality ammunition, in line with the highest international standards.

Barood Ammunition Factory is a Barzan Holdings initiative towards being self-sufficient in defense production as part of the industrial development in the state of Qatar.

With its high capacity storage and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, it is set to specialize in manufacturing ammunition as per NATO standards.
