Abu Dhabi’s GSSF Opens Today

The Global Space and Satellite Forum (GSSF) 2011, the region’s leading industry event for organizations involved in military or commercial space operations, opens today (Monday 09 May) at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi.
Held over 3 days, from 9-11 May, GSSF gathers senior industry figures and government officials from across the diverse space and satellite sector, exploring the various commercial opportunities it represents both regionally and globally.
Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, an honored guest of GSSF, will deliver the day one opening address.
He joins speakers and guests from a broad range of industry sectors attending GSSF, including major satellite companies, end users such as government authorities, space agencies, system developers and vendors.
“The space and satellite sector is becoming increasingly pervasive, having an impact on all our lives in various ways, whether it be in mobile communications, delivery of news and entertainment, disaster management, GIS mapping or any of the other many areas that rely on this sector”, said Nick Webb, Director, Streamline Marketing Group, organizers of the Global Space and Satellite Forum (GSSF) 2011.
