Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Meets Canadian Defense Minister

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Tuesday at Al Shatti Palace, HE Harjit Sajjan, Minister of National Defense of Canada, to discuss avenues of joint co-ordination and co-operation in defense and military fields.

Also discussed were ways of enhancing bilateral ties in a manner that serve the interests of the two friendly countries and their people, UAE’s national news agency WAM reported.

Sheikh Mohamed and the visiting Canadian Minister also touched on a number of issues of mutual interest and most important regional developments including ongoing international efforts to counter terrorism groups.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Lt. General Juma Ahmed Al Bawardi, Advisor to the Deputy Supreme Commander, Arif Lalani, Canadian Ambassador to UAE, and a number of Canadian officials, attended the meeting.

Earlier, Sheikh Mohamed received US Chief of Staff of the Army, General Mark A. Milley, at the Al-Shatea' Palace.

Both parties discussed bilateral relations and ways of promoting them. They also examined avenues of cooperation and coordination in a number of military and defense spheres between their two countries.

Sheikh Mohamed and the US official also discussed a number of issues of common interest and the developments in the region and exchanged views on these issues.

Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Lt. General Juma Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falasi, Advisor to the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince also attended the meeting.
