A force from the Desert Battalion of Brigade 23 Infantry of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), together with support elements attached to it, headed to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take part at the Joint Omani-Emirates Exercise (Cooperation 2) which is held from 3rd to 14th February 2019.
The exercise is part of the annual training program carried out by the RAO with the sisterly and friendly countries, according to Oman News Agency (ONA).
The exercise aims at exchanging experiences and activating the joint training and exercise plan. It is also part of the training plan adopted by the RAO Command to maintain high level of efficiency and combat training for ROA personnel.
In another development, the 7th session meeting of the Omani- Pakistani Joint Committee was held at the Diplomatic Institute in Muscat on Friday.
The meeting comes to stress the existing historic relations between the Sultanate and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to strengthen ties of the existing cooperation between both countries.
The Omani side in the meeting was chaired by Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, whilst the Pakistani side was chaired by Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Pakistan.
The meeting discussed areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries, particularly what is related to promoting the economic relations and investment between the two countries, as well as means of enhancing them.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials from both sides.
