The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) delivered domestically-developed cruise missiles, dubbed “Qadir” and “Nasir”, to the navy fleet on Sunday after the IRGC held large-scale military exercises in the Persian Gulf.

With a range of up to 300 kilometers, Qadir (CM-300) missile is widely used in coastal launchers and naval combat vessels. It weighs 700 kilograms and is comprised of a 165-kilogram warhead. It employs an inertial guidance system for its initial phase and an active radar guidance for its final phase.

The missile receives the position of sea targets from radars and moves toward them using an internal guidance system or inertia based on the accelerometer and gyroscope. After reaching the target, the missile locks onto it while guided in the form of an active radar, Fars News Agency (FNA) reported.

Nasir (CM-90) missile has a turbojet engine and a maximum range of 90 kilometers. It can be launched from coastal and marine platforms.

Weighing 351 kilograms, the missile is capable of carrying a 130-kilogram warhead at a maximum speed of Mach 8, which is 8 times the speed of sound.

The Iranian Navy also received on Saturday a series of new military hardware, including drone, electronic warfare system and cruise and ballistic missiles equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The new gear, including missiles, drones and electronic warfare systems, were handed over to the IRGC naval forces during a ceremony attended by IRGC Chief Major General Hossein Salami and IRCG Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri.

Among the new weaponry are various types of reconnaissance, combat, offense and spy drones, different types of logistical and command vehicles and electronic warfare systems such as air defense equipment.

The IRGC Navy has also taken delivery of trucks equipped with cruise missile launchers, paired with radar systems and hundreds of cruise and ballistic missiles with ranges from 300 to 1,000 kilometers.

A number of specialized missile, drone and electronic warfare systems were among the other products unveiled on Saturday. The military equipment have been manufactured by the IRGC, the Defense Ministry, and domestic companies.
