Under the patronage of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Commander Lieutenant General Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the new strategy and identity of SAMI, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and national strategic partner for defense industries, has been launched at the company’s headquarters in Jeddah.
According to SAMI, the launch of the new identity, “SAMI Aerospace Mechanics”, follows this year’s full acquisition of Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC), one of the largest maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
During the ceremony, Prince Turki expressed pride in the achievements made in the sector, stating: “With the unlimited support and guidance of our wise leadership to develop and support defense industries in the Kingdom by settling 50% of military spending by 2030, everyone knows the important role of national companies in building local capabilities and competencies in aircraft maintenance, and increasing their readiness to the highest quality global standards.”
SAMI CEO Walid bin Abdulmajeed Abukhaled said “the new strategy and identity reflects new horizons in the aviation and space sector in the Kingdom, directed toward developing and empowering national aviation capabilities, in line with the Vision 2030”.
He added that this step is part of the efforts to achieve development and growth, in view of the rapid expansion of commercial aviation markets, locally and regionally, emphasizing that this achievement reinforces the integration of SAMI Group companies and contributes to building a sustainable defense system in the Kingdom.
