His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, received at Bayan Palace on Tuesday 23 December First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, along with his accompanying delegation.
Attending the meeting were Chief of His Highness the Crown Prince’s Office, Retired Lieutenant General Jamal Al-Theyab, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs at the Crown Prince’s Diwan Mazen Al-Essa and Deputy Chief of Staff Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Lieutenant General Mirza also met with Undersecretary of the Kuwait National Guard Lieutenant General Hashim Al-Rifai on Tuesday. The officials discussed ways to enhance military cooperation. This came in a press statement issued by the National Guard following Al-Rifai’s reception of General Mirza and his accompanying delegations during their official visit to Kuwait.
Al-Rifai conveyed greetings from National Guard Chief Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Deputy Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to the visiting delegation, the statement added.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, met on Monday 22 December with Lieutenant General Sahir Mirza, Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Both sides discussed key issues of mutual interest, focusing on military cooperation and development between the two nations.
The meeting, held during Lt General Mirza’s official visit to Kuwait, was followed by an official reception.
According to a statement from the Kuwaiti General Staff, Lt General Mirza also visited the Mubarak Al Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the College’s role in preparing military leaders and its academic and training programs aimed at enhancing leadership and operational skills.
Additionally, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, met with Lt General Mirza to further discuss areas of collaboration and strengthening ties between Kuwait and Pakistan. The meeting, which took place on Monday, was attended by Sheikha Dr. Shamayel.
Khaled Al-Sabah, Assistant Undersecretary for External Equipment, along with other senior officials from the Ministry of Defense.
