Bahrain’s National Guard Commander Holds Talks with Pakistani Chiefs of Armed, Air Forces

His Highness General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard, arrived in Islamabad Wednesday on an official visit to participate in the celebrations marking Pakistan Day. 

Upon arrival at Pakistan Air Force Base Nur Khan, His Highness was received by General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ambassador to Pakistan, senior Pakistani military officials, and a representative from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Thursday, His Highness met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (photo), at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

Upon arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, His Highness was welcomed with a formal ceremony that included a guard of honour. The national anthems of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Pakistan were played during the ceremony.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa commended the strong military cooperation and exchange between Bahrain and Pakistan and lauded the Pakistani Armed Forces’ role in supporting regional and international security and stability.

On his part, General Mirza highlighted the importance of His Highness’ visit in advancing military relations between the two countries.

The meeting addressed topics of common interest and reviewed the longstanding military cooperation between Bahrain and Pakistan, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard also met Tuesday with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, at the Air Force Headquarters in Islamabad.

Air Chief Marshal Baber highlighted the importance of His Highness’ visit in advancing military relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa commended the advanced level of military cooperation and exchange between the two countries. His Highness also lauded the role of the Pakistani Armed Forces in maintaining regional and global security and stability.

The meeting addressed topics of common interest, with a focus on enhancing military cooperation and further enhancing the ties between Bahrain and Pakistan across various domains.

On Friday, the Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard met with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy, at the naval headquarters in Islamabad.

Admiral Ashraf highlighted the importance of His Highness’ visit in advancing military relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Lastly, the Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain called on General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ at Rawalpindi on Saturday.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral military cooperation. Both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest including regional security dynamics, counter-terrorism efforts and training exchanges, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.

On the occasion, the COAS said that Pakistan values its traditionally strong defence, diplomatic and economic relations with Kingdom of Bahrain and underscored Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing military ties with Bahrain.

The COAS emphasized upon the importance of collaboration in addressing shared security challenges and promoting peace and stability in the region.

The visiting dignitary commended Pakistan for its efforts in combating terrorism and extremism and acknowledged the professionalism and dedication of Pakistan Army.
