UAV SHOW EUROPE 2012
24.09.2012 Europe
UAV SHOW EUROPE is taking place on September 25th, 26th and 27th in Bordeaux-Merignac, France.
Open-air demonstrations showing the UAVs’ operational capabilities make this biennial event original and exclusive.
More than 15 UAV systems will be operating in Camp de Souge’s reserved airspace, located very near Bordeaux-Merignac International Airport.
From 5kg to more than a ton, helicopters and multi-rotors (rotary wings), aircraft (fixed wings), MALE (medium-altitude long-endurance) UAVs, all will be used to illustrate the commercial applications of autonomous systems.
From topographic surveys to high definition images to road infrastructure surveillance, a wide range of devices will be presented to the public.
These civil and military systems are developed by large groups such as Thales or Cassidian-SurveyCopter but also by young SMEs like Delair Tech, Fly-N-Sense or Secudrones, as well as the Armed Forces.
First unveiling at the show is a live transmission of images captured by the Harfang MALE UAV (high-altitude surveillance mission) in flight over Camp de Souge.
The opening address brings together the management of DGAC (Directorate General for Civil Aviation), the American FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), the British CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), and the Secretary General of the EUROCAE group to discuss legislation and certification issues.
Other meetings will take place throughout the day, notably with the CDC (French Deposits and Consignments Fund), Malakoff Médéric and other partners and innovators who will be speaking about their role in structuring this emerging field.
The Armed Forces will also be present to share their feedback and their future UAV needs.
