Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received Deputy Commander of the US Central Command Lt. General Thomas W Bergeson (photo) and his accompanying delegation.
The BDF Commander-in-Chief welcomed the US military official and his accompanying delegation and reviewed with him bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation and ways of bolstering them mainly in the defense field.
The meeting was attended by BDF Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
The meeting was also attended by General Command Court Director Major General Hassan Mohammed Sa’ad and Military Cooperation Director Rear Admiral Mohammed Hashim Al-Sadah.
Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa also paid an inspection visit to a number of BDF units. He praised the enormous sacrifice made by the BDF personnel to defend the nation, lauding the efforts made to equip the BDF weaponry with the latest technologies and training programs.
Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa underlined the BDF’s sacred duty of defending the nation, maintaining regional and international stability and fighting terrorism.
For his part, Bahrain’s Royal Guard Commander Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa separately received Lt. General Thomas W Bergeson and his accompanying delegation.
He welcomed them and discussed ways of boosting bilateral military cooperation, lauding deep-rooted historical relations between both countries and their growth at all levels.
