General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, witnessed the implementation of the main phase of the tactical command post exercise (Goliath-2), which is being conducted by the Western Military Zone within the framework of the training plan of the Armed Forces’ formations and units, in the presence of Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, commanders of the main branches, and a number of commanders of the Armed Forces.
Major General Mohamed Haitham Mohamed Helmy, Commander of the Western Military Zone, delivered a speech in which he pointed to the keenness of the personnel of the Western Military Zone to reach the highest rates of efficiency and combat readiness, enabling them to carry out all the entrusted tasks in defending the security and safety of the homeland and the sanctity of its land, whatever the sacrifices are, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The main phase began with presenting a summary of the mobilization idea and presenting the decisions made by the leaders during the exercise management. General Mohamed Zaki discussed a number of commanders and officers participating in the exercise regarding the manner in which they carry out their tasks and how they make decisions to face emerging variables while managing operations according to their different specializations.
In a related context, General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with a number of personnel from the Western Military Zone, where he conveyed to them the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and his pride in the effort made by the personnel of the Western Military Zone.
He also stressed the keenness of the General Command of the Armed Forces to improve the system of combat efficiency and combat readiness of units and formations and to increase their potential and capabilities at all levels. He praised the outstanding performance achieved by the forces implementing the exercise.
General Mohamed Zaki hold a dialogue with the personnel of the Western Military Zone, in which he knew their opinions and inquiries and discussed with them everything that was on their minds about various fields. He expressed his happiness at the correct understanding and awareness he witnessed of all issues and topics.
Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, witnessed one of the phases of the exercise, which included: presenting the reports and decisions implemented at various levels. He also imposed a number of surprising tactical positions to ensure the ability of all elements participating in the exercise to make the right decision during the course of operations.
