Within the framework of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ keenness to enhance fields of military cooperation with various brotherly and friendly countries, Lieutenant General Ashraf Ibrahim Atwa, Commander of the Naval Forces, met with Major General Emmanuel Sellars, Commander of the Indian Ocean and Red Sea Naval Region of the French Naval Forces, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed a number of topics of common interest regarding supporting maritime security and stability efforts in the region, as well as discussing ways to enhance maritime cooperation between the two sides during the next stage, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The two sides stressed the depth of the strategic partnership relations between the Egyptian and French Naval Forces and their keenness to strengthen them in light of the distinguished links that bring together the two friendly countries in various fields.
