General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, conducted an inspection of the Red Sea Naval Base.
The visit, attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, leaders of the main branches, and several Armed Forces Commanders, falls within the framework of field monitoring of the readiness and combat preparedness of the Armed Forces’ units and formations.
During the visit, the Commander-in-Chief received a briefing on measures to secure the operational theater of the Red Sea Naval Base, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
He also observed training activities that demonstrated the high combat efficiency of the Naval Forces’ personnel. Following this, he toured several naval units to assess their readiness and engaged with specialized crews to discuss their execution of duties and proficiency in operating modern combat systems integrated into the naval forces.
General Abdel Mageed Saqr also met with a number of naval personnel, conveying the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. He emphasized the General Command’s commitment to enhancing and developing the Naval Forces’ combat capabilities in line with the latest systems, enabling them to safeguard Egypt’s coasts, territorial waters, and strategic interests against all maritime threats.
The Commander-in-Chief urged the naval forces to maintain the highest levels of efficiency and combat readiness to execute their assigned tasks under all circumstances. He reaffirmed that the Armed Forces, equipped with advanced combat capabilities and highly trained personnel, remain fully capable of protecting the nation and its sanctities amidst the ongoing challenges facing the region.
