The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Commander, General Joseph Aoun, received in his office in Yarzeh the Commander of the Italian Army, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.

They discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two Armies, as well as the general situation in the country and developments on the southern border, the Lebanese Army said in a statement.

In another development, the LAF Commander inspected the Rangers Regiment stationed at the military training area in Kornet Al Sawda. He emphasized that their presence is crucial for maintaining security, preventing conflicts, and avoiding casualties, particularly in light of ongoing land disputes in the region, which are being monitored by the relevant judiciary.

He addressed the personnel, saying: “Your presence is a guarantee of stability in this region, where you undertake ongoing missions in challenging and harsh conditions. Yet, nothing is impossible in light of your determination, as you believe in the sacredness of your mission.”

“I see a strong will and high morale in your eyes. I take pride in you and your comrades deployed across various regions of Lebanon, whether at the borders or inland, and in what you accomplish daily to protect our country and its people. May your loyalty be exclusively to Lebanon and your devotion to its army, and always take pride in your Lebanese identity,” General Aoun added.

He concluded by affirming that any violation of civil peace is unacceptable, and that the challenging circumstances demand increased patience and sacrifice to safeguard both the institution and the nation. (Source & Photo © Lebanese Armed Forces)
