Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Wednesday Major General Said Hussain Al Khayarin, Commander of the Qatari Emiri Land Forces.
The two sides reviewed areas of military cooperation between the two countries. They also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The meeting was attended by Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), several senior SAF officers and the Military Attaché at the Qatari Embassy in Muscat.
For his part, Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) separately received in his office the visiting Commander of the Qatari Emiri Land Forces (photo).
The two sides reviewed several military matters of common concern. They also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by senior RAO officers and the Military Attaché at the Qatari Embassy in Muscat.
The Commander of the Qatari Emiri Land Forces also visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC). He was accompanied during the visit by the Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO).
The guest was greeted upon his arrival at the MSC by Commodore Mohammed Hamoud Al Zedjali, Head of the MSC.
The Commander of the Qatari Emiri Land Forces was briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the centre in the safety of the maritime environment. He also toured the centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties.
Lastly, the Commander of the Qatari Emiri Land Forces visited the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) Museum at Bait Al Falaj Fort. He was accompanied during his visit by the Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO).
The Director of the Museum accompanied the guest during his tour in various sections of the Museum. They viewed the historic manuscripts and models. The guest was also briefed on the march of SAF’s development.
At the conclusion of the visit, the guest signed the visitor’s book, expressing his delight in viewing the rich military and civilized heritage of Oman, as well as its aspects of progress and growth.
