The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) concluded Thursday a joint air exercise (Precision Test) with the participation of elements of the US Air Force.
The exercise included diverse training fields that simulate virtual scenes in line with the roles of the participating air units and their tasks in accordance with the general plan of the exercise and the envisaged national goals, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The implementation of this exercise comes within the framework of plans to sustain the efficiency and combat readiness of the RAFO personnel to achieve the operational goals and national tasks in various fields of national duty.
The closing ceremony of the exercise was attended at Thumrait Air Base by Senior RAFO Officers.
Earlier, Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Wednesday Brigadier Tina B. Boyd, Director, Communication and Information Affairs, US Central Command.
The two sides reviewed areas of military cooperation between Oman and the US. They also exchanged views on several matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Mantheri, Assistant SAF Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning, Brigadier Mohammed Saleh Al Farsi, Chief of Cyber Defence and the Military Attaché at the US Embassy in Muscat.
Later, Brigadier Tina B. Boyd visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC). The guest and her accompanying delegation were greeted upon their arrival at the MSC by Commodore Mohammed Hamoud Al Zedjali, Head of the MSC.
Members of the visiting delegation were briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the centre in the safety of the maritime environment. He also toured the centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties.
In another development, Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received in his office Wednesday Commodore Waqar Muhammad, Commander of the Combined Task Force (CTF-150).
The two sides exchanged views on several military matters of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Mantheri, Assistant SAF Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning and the Military Attaché at the Pakistani Embassy in Muscat.
For his part, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) also received Commodore Waqar Muhammad, Commander of the Combined Task Force (CTF-150).
The meeting was attended by Commodore Tariq Issa Al Raisi, Senior RNO Staff officer, a number of senior RNO officers and the Military Attaché at the Pakistani Embassy in Muscat.
Prior to leaving Oman, Commodore Waqar Muhammad visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC). The guest was greeted upon his arrival at the MSC by Commodore Mohammed Hamoud Al Zedjali, Head of the MSC.
