Commander of Indian Navy’s Western Fleet Visits Sultanate of Oman

Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), received in Muscat (photo) Rear Admiral Sameer Saxena, Commander of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet.

The two sides exchanged views and reviewed several military matters of common interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

For his part, Commodore Tarik Issa Al Raisi, Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), also received Rear Admiral Sameer Saxena, Commander of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet.

The two sides exchanged views on various matters of common interest.

Both meetings were attended by Commodore Jasim Mohammed Al Balushi, RNO Director of Operations and Plans and the Military Attaché of the Indian Embassy at Muscat.

Meanwhile, the guest also toured the Maritime Security Centre’s (MSC) facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties. He was also briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the Centre in the safety of the maritime environment.

In another development, Commodore Tarik Issa Al Raisi, Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) also received at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Commodore Rui Miguel Marcelo Correia, Commander of the European Union Naval Force (NAVFOR) - Operation ATLANTA.

The two sides exchanged views and discussed several naval matters of common interest.
