The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), hosted Wednesday the 21st meeting of GCC Land Forces Commanders under the chairmanship of Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of RAO.
The meeting discussed several topics on the agenda and reviewed areas of existing military cooperation between land forces of the GCC countries in a bid to achieve joint objectives, Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a brief statement.
In another development, the Joint Command and Staff College (CSC) of Oman concluded Wednesday the annual military exercise “Al Hazm” which was implemented by the 36th batch at the College, in Bait Al Falaj Garrison.
Al Hazm comes within the framework of various exercises conducted as per the College’s syllabi in a bid to achieve desired goals.
Lastly, a number of joint cooperation programs of employment-related training initiatives and the Employment Support Program were signed at the Ministry of Labor of Oman. The programs were inked by the Ministry of Defense, military and security units and the Ministry of Labor.
The programs offer on-the-job training for Omani jobseekers and highlight the contribution of military and security units to the service of the Sultanate.
The programs were signed by Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Za’abi, Secretary General at the Ministry of Defense, Dr. Mahad Said Ba’Owain, Minister of Labor, Major General Salim Ali Al Hosni, Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman, and Sheikh Nasr Amer Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor for Labor.
The programs demonstrate the integration of national efforts, the ongoing partnership between military units and the Ministry of Labor and a keenness to offer Omani youth opportunities to contribute to domestic development.
