Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence of Oman, visited the sites of two military exercises carried out by institutions of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.
The first visit (photo) was made to the site of a strategic exercise codenamed “Decision Making 11”, carried out by participants in the 11th course at the National Defence College.
The second visit was made to the site of an annual military exercise titled “Al Hazm”, being implemented by participants in the 37th course at the Joint Command and Staff College.
At the two visits, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi was accompanied by Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, and a number of Senior Officers, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Al Zaabi and his accompanying Senior Officers listened to briefings about the objectives of the two exercises and their role in preparing the participants to deal with complex situations.
Last week, Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies viewed activities of the strategic annual exercise “Decision Making-11” at the National Defence College (NDC).
Upon his arrival at the College, he was received by Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC.
During the visit, the Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies was briefed about the exercise.
Earlier, several Retired Commanders and some members of the State Council also viewed activities of the annual strategic exercise “Decision Making-11” at the National Defence College (NDC). Moreover, they toured the various training cells, in which the participants gave a presentation about the exercise and means of interacting with national and international events.
It is worth noting that the annual strategic exercise “Decision Making-11” kicked off in 30 June 2024 and will run till 11 July 2024.
The exercise aims to enhance the participants’ decision making on the strategic level, analyzing the main strategic topics within simulated national, regional and international events.
“Decision Making-11” also targets striking a balance in utilizing the country’s resources to achieve national interests, establishing harmony in utilizing tools of global powers and developing strategic thinking.
