A delegation from the Command and Staff College of the National Defence University at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) visited Monday the Joint Command and Staff College in the Sultanate of Oman.
The visiting delegation was headed by Air Commodore Misfer Said Al Shamrani, Commander of the KSA’s Command and Staff College.
Upon the guests’ arrival at the College, they were greeted by Brigadier Saif Hamad Al Yousifi, Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
During the visit, the guests watched a presentation about the Joint Command and Staff College and its curricula. They also toured the College’s facilities and departments.
The Saudi delegation also visited the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies. Upon the guests’ arrival at the Academy at Bait Al Falaj Garrison, they were greeted by Air Commodore Abdullah Faiz Al Dhafri, Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the Academy.
During the meeting (photo), the two sides discussed several matters related to academic and training fields.
In another development, activities of a national Military Discipline Programme (MDP) kicked off in Oman’s Dhofar Governorate Sunday. Supervised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the MDP is being implemented through cooperation with military and security departments and government institutions.
At the outset of the ceremony, the participants were briefed about events and activities of the MDP, which runs until 24 July 2024. The participants will attend hands-on applications on the MDP’s goals at infantry units and other military services.
The first week of the programme includes lectures on military discipline, communication skills, first aid, teamwork, leadership styles, means of dealing with drugs and psychotropic substances, nutrition and its effects on physical fitness. Two workshops will be organized during the week: The first one seeks to inculcate values of citizenship and belonging and the second deals with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and entrepreneurship.
