French Chief of Defence Staff Visits Sultanate of Oman

Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Sunday General Thierry Burkhard, Chief of Defence Staff of the French Republic (photo).

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and reviewed several military matters of mutual interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Hamed Abdullah Al Balushi, Assistant SAF Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning, several senior COSAF officers and the military attaché of the French embassy in Muscat.

Later, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs also received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison the visiting Chief of Defence Staff of the French Republic and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries. They also discussed several topics of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), the Ambassador of the French Republic to the Sultanate of Oman and the Military Attaché of the French Embassy in Muscat.
