Qatar Airways, the flag carrier of the State of Qatar, received its 25th 777 aircraft from Boeing recently.
The airplane is a 777-300ER (extended range) model, which can carry up to 335 passengers in a two-class configuration up to 7,930 nautical miles (14,685 km).
Since placing its first 777 order in 2007, the airline has expanded to include 25 of the 3 newer generation 777 models. Qatar Airways' fleet includes 2 long- range 777 freighters, 15 highly efficient 777-300ERs and 8 of the ultra-long-range 777-200LR (longer range) airplanes.
'The 777 is delivering exceptional value to our airline. It is a tool for profitability, but also delivers the highest in customer satisfaction. Its service reliability and cabin architecture, coupled with our innovative interiors and world-class, award-winning in-flight service have made the 777 the airplane of choice for our passengers’, said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways.
'Qatar Airways is one of only 7 airlines with a Five Star ranking awarded by Skytrax. Boeing truly appreciates its business partnership with Qatar Airways and its commitment to the 777 family,' added said Marlin Dailey, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
The airline currently operates 97 aircraft from Doha to 99 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America, the Far East and Indian subcontinent.
