Nexter at Milipol Qatar, AUSA & Euronaval
26.10.2010 Europe
Nexter, a European leader in defense systems, is simultaneously participating at 3 major events: Milipol Qatar (Doha, 25-27 October 2010), AUSA (Washington, D.C., 25-27 October 2010), and Euronaval (Paris, 25-29 October 2010).
At Milipol Qatar, Nexter is showcasing its new Aravis® highly protected vehicle which is a piece of choice for SWAT, police, gendarmerie, anti-terrorists units and law enforcement organizations. Aravis provides an outstanding force protection. Its Safepro armor technology defeats mines and IEDs as well as kinetic projectiles fired by assault rifles and heavy machineguns. A wide range of options is available to adapt Aravis to the mission. Aravis has a modular design and can be derived in many versions such as APC, command post, ambulance, patrol, border surveillance and counter IED team carrier. It can be fitted with remote controlled weapon station up to 20 mm. Nexter can offer its new ARX®20 RWS which provides an unrivaled compromise between devastating firepower, light weight and cost effectiveness.
NBC-Sys is the French leader in NRBC protection technology. Its successful products are in service in numerous armies, navies, air forces and homeland security organizations around the world. NBC-Sys range of products addresses individual protection suits solutions as well as collective units solutions.
At AUSA, Nexter is introducing 3 combat proven systems. VBCI, the first wheeled infantry fighting vehicle ever, is used by the French army in Afghanistan and Lebanon. This advanced platform uses state-of-the-art technology in protection and mobility which complies with main GCV requirements well known as the "big 4". VBCI provides superior force protection thanks to advanced design in structure and add-on armor technology. Its open electronic architecture is a key factor for growth potential and adaptability to the mission. Advanced powertrain gives VBCI mobility over all types of terrains. Finally its internal volume can accommodate up to eleven (2+9) digitized warriors with extended load capacity.
Nexter is also displaying its smart wheeled artillery howitzer Caesar® at AUSA. Nexter's Syegon®, the central tire inflation system which has been selected by world class AFV and trucks manufacturers, can be also seen at the Hutchinson booth during this show.
At Euronaval, Nexter is exhibiting two major pieces of equipment for the FREMM multi-mission frigate.
The Aquitaine class ship will rely on high technology "collective NBC protection system" developed and manufactured by Nexter's subsidiary, NBC-Sys.
For FREMM close-in defense against asymmetric threats, Nexter Systems is negotiating the final step for the new Narwhal remotely controlled weapon station. Narwhal is able to defeat all kind of suicide fast boats, frogmen and low speed flying assets with a comfortable stand off and create a bubble shield that immune the capital ship. The 20 mm Nexter 20-693 cannon is an unrivaled compromise between firepower, cost effectiveness and weight. Narwhal has all weather capacity thanks to high technology sensors and optronics devices.
