Nexter Group is presenting the full extent of its naval equipment range at the Euronaval 2016 trade show currently taking place at Le Bourget, Paris (17-21 October).

The Nexter stand is presenting the Group’s full range of naval ammunition from 20mm to 127mm. Also on the Nexter stand, NBC-Sys - the Group subsidiary specializing in collective protection against CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) threats - is presenting its CBRN filtration systems for vessels, including those for FREMM frigates. NARWHAL®, along with a VBCI T25 on a trackway produced by Musthane, are also on display in section C1 of the trade show.

The stand also shows the Group’s extensive expertise in naval weapons systems by featuring NARWHAL®, the remotely operated 20mm gun turret - now used by the French Navy’s FREMM and BPC vessels, Egyptian FREMMs and the Lebanese navy - together with the 15A mount.

This gun turret was designed using Nexter’s huge experience in light naval mounts and technologies for gun turrets used on helicopters (THL20 and THL30).

NARWHAL® combines the impressive firepower of Nexter’s 20M621 20mm gun – used by more than 25 countries, with a set of high-performance day/night electro-optic cameras and a moving target monitoring function. It is the ideal system for a broad range of critical missions. It is perfectly suited to surveillance and maritime police operations, but also interception and self-defense operations in the face of constantly evolving asymmetric threats.

NARWHAL® provides short-range self-defense for French and Egyptian FREMM frigates, for French MISTRAL-class vessels and for Lebanese navy patrol boats. It will be also in service on patrol boats (Guyanese PLG light patrol craft) and on the HORIZON class frigates of the French Navy.

Nexter, the leading French land defense company is a KNDS Group company. It is dedicated to meeting the needs of French and other land forces internationally. The scope of its business includes the supply of weapon systems and ammunition for air and naval forces. The acquisition of Belgian company Mecar and Italian company Simmel Difesa enabled the establishment, along with Nexter Munitions, of the third European player in the ammunition sector.

The group continues its international development policy with 55% of order intake in 2015 destined for the export market. In France, Nexter is fully committed to meeting the objectives of the SCORPION program, through the renovation of the Leclerc tank and the development of the future GRIFFON and JAGUAR vehicles within the GME (temporary consortium between Nexter, Thales and Renault Trucks Defense).

Nexter's 2015 turnover amounted to €1.07 billion, of which 14% is allocated to Research and Development activities. The group's range of products consists of ARAVIS®, TITUS® and VBCI armored vehicles, CAESAR®, TRAJAN® and 105LG1 artillery systems, smart ammunition (BONUS), as well as customer service, support and recycling.
