The President of the Republic of Algeria, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense chaired, at the People’s Palace last week, the ceremony of ranks and medals awarding to Generals and Senior Officers, on the eve of the commemorative festivities of the 61st anniversary of independence, the Algerian Ministry of Defense reported.
At the beginning of this ceremony, the General, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (PNA), delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks to the President of the Republic for having presided over this ceremony which constitutes an opportunity to honor executives of the Ministry of National Defense, for their efforts, deployed with responsibility and skill, in the accomplishment of their missions.
“First of all, it is a pleasure for me to express on my own behalf and on behalf of all the personnel of PNA, my sincere thanks and gratitude to the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, for having kindly presided over the ceremony of awarding ranks and medals to the executives of People’s National Army, which takes place on the eve of the celebration of independence anniversary and the recovery of national sovereignty,” he said.
“The greatness of this memorable date, the 61st anniversary that we are celebrating this year, implies that it is given due priority. Indeed, thanks to the noble ideals carried by its craftsmen, made of sacrifices and moral values, this glorious historical stage ranked among the greatest achievements of the 20th century. That is to say that it constitutes an example for those who love this dear homeland with a sincere love and want to serve it with dedication and loyalty,” the Chief of Staff added.
“To come to this traditional ceremony of awarding ranks and medals to officers belonging to our Armed Forces and assimilated civilian personnel, coinciding with this glorious national holiday, is a testimony of consideration and recognition for the efforts made, with responsibility and skill, by these executives, men and women alike, in the accomplishment of the assigned missions, in particular those deployed all along the borders of our dear country,” he stressed.
The General underlined that the permanent support provided by the President of the Republic to the military institution can only strengthen the determination of its executives and the personnel to continue development and modernization process of defense apparatus, saying:
“Finally, I would like to reiterate to you, Mr. President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, my deepest gratitude and thanks for the support that you continue to bring to the military institution, which was marked this year by numerous assessment and orientation visits, the high patronage of several activities, such as the national symposium on the national cyber defense strategy, and the supervision of the tactical exercise with real ammunition “Fadjr-2023”, carried out by units of the 12th mechanical infantry division in Djelfa, supported by inter-force and inter-arms units, having closed the force preparation program for the year 2022-2023.”
“This exceptional support thus provided can only strengthen our determination to continue the process of development and modernization of our defense system, through the acquisition of modern military technologies, armaments and equipment, and the qualification of human potential, in such a way as to allow it to be in tune with technological developments and to master them. Our purpose is to protect our security and our vital national interests and to defend our land and sea borders, as well as our airspace, whatever the circumstances,” he concluded.
Afterwards, the President of the Republic accompanied by the General, Chief of staff of PNA and by the commander of Republican Guard, proceeded to ranks and medals awarding to General and Senior officers and to civilian personnel.
