Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqer Al Noaimi, the Chief of Staff of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) attended Sunday the commencement of the first phase of the joint air exercise “Jund Al Samaa/1” (Sky Warriors/1).
The exercise is conducted by the Royal Bahraini Air Force (BDF) in collaboration with various units of BDF, the Ministry of Interior, and the National Guard.
Al Noaimi conveyed the regards of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of BDF, to all participating entities, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
The Chief of Staff emphasised that the Sky Warriors exercise contributes to enhancing the ability to plan aerial operations and modern air combat, as well as executing tactical airborne transportation and airdrop missions aimed at refining military capabilities and elevating the proficiency of participants by enriching field experiences and skills.
In another development, the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) of Oman began Sunday a joint annual exercise in conjunction with the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO).
The exercise, codenamed “Wiqayat Oman”, is carried out at Al Mussanah Air Base until 7 February 2024, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The exercise is conducted in pursuance of training plans undertaken by the Ministry of Defence and the Sultan’s Armed Forces.
