Bahrain’s King Visits General Command of Defence Force

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, paid a visit to the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Monday.

Upon arrival, HM the King was received by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the BDF.

HM the King was accompanied by Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of HM the King, and His Highness Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander.

Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs; Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff; and several senior officers, were also present, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The officials congratulated HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the occasion of the Bahrain National Football Team winning the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup.

During the visit, HM the King was briefed on future plans of the various branches and units of the BDF.

HM the King commended the BDF’s successful organisation of the first GCC Military Shooting Championship, hosted in the Kingdom. He further lauded the efforts of the BDF team in securing first place in the championship, featuring the participation of elite marksmen from the armed forces of GCC states.

HM the King highlighted the strong ties and historical bonds uniting GCC countries, which were reflected in such joint military competitions.

HM the King commended the BDF’s sporting achievements and the personnel’s dedication to defending the Kingdom.
