The Al Badr 9 joint military drill, conducted by Bahrain's National Guard and the Pakistan Army, concluded on Saturday 28 December. The drill coincided with the 28th anniversary of Bahrain National Guard’s founding.

Al Badr drill series, held as part of a cooperation protocol between the National Guard and the Pakistan Army, is conducted under the directives of His Highness General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, National Guard Commander.

The drill aims to enhance leadership capabilities and operational efficiency, and readiness to address shared security challenges. It also facilitates expertise exchange and skill development through joint training in planning, combat procedures, and logistics.

The annual series strengthens military cooperation between Bahrain and Pakistan, reflecting the close ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to addressing challenges, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

In another development, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), met Sunday with His Highness Lieutenant Colonel Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Advisor for Financial and Technical Affairs, Major General Dr. Yousef Rashid Fleifel, Chief of the Military Judiciary and President of the Military Court of Cassation, and several Senior BDF Officers.

The Commander-in-Chief was briefed on the key stages of development and advancement within the BDF.

The Commander-in-Chief highlighted that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the ongoing follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, the BDF continues to harness its resources to equip its units and divisions with state-of-the-art military systems, ensuring the highest standards of combat and administrative readiness.

The Commander-in-Chief commended the efforts of the BDF personnel to safeguard Bahrain's historical heritage and preserve its civilisational achievements.
