Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, honored the technical, administrative staff, and players of the military shooting team who won first places in the African Championship which qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He also honored a number of distinguished officers in the scientific and research fields.
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces conveyed the greetings and appreciation of General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production. He congratulated the honorees and praised the outstanding efforts that have been achieved in advancing the Armed Forces and their role in serving the homeland, emphasizing the keenness of the Armed Forces to provide all the capabilities that enable their members to achieve excellence and leadership in all fields.
The honoring ceremony was attended by a number of commanders of the Armed Forces, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
In another development, Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with a delegation from the Armed Services Committee of the US House of Representatives, headed by the Congressman Adam Smith, the committee’s minority leader, during their official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt this past week.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the crisis in the Gaza Strip, exchanging views on the necessity of not expanding the circle of military operations in order to ensure that the foundations of security and stability in the Middle East are not destabilized, expanding Egyptian efforts to achieve a ceasefire and calm the situation, in addition to the continuing efforts exerted by the Arab Republic of Egypt to ensure a full and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip.
A number of Commanders of the Armed Forces and the American Ambassador in Cairo attended the meeting.
