The Egyptian-American joint naval training “Eagle Defender” concluded on Wednesday 18 September 2024.

The drills lasted for several days within the Southern Fleet area in the Red Sea of Egypt.

This training, held for the first time, involved elements from the Egyptian and US Naval Forces, said the Egyptian Armed Forces’ Spokesman, Gharib Abdel Hafez, in a statement.

The activities began with the delivery of numerous theoretical and practical lectures to achieve harmony and unify operational concepts among the participating forces, the Spokesman added.

Additionally, an exhibition showcasing the weapons and equipment used during various training phases was organized.

The training included the execution of several different training activities, encompassing planning operations and managing joint naval operations to exchange experiences between both sides.

The training also aimed to refine the skills and capabilities of the participating forces and familiarize them with the latest advanced armament systems.

In another development, and in line with the Egyptian Armed Forces General Command commitment to exchanging training expertise and enhancing military cooperation with brotherly and friendly nations, elements from the Egyptian Special Forces and Serbian Special Forces conducted joint exercise at the combat training fields of the Egyptian Special Forces. The activities took place over several days in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The exercise included several training activities, such as executing an operation to storm a terrorist hub within a residential area using helicopters, during which hostages were freed and terrorists apprehended. Additionally, a series of both standard and non-standard firing exercises were carried out, showcasing the precision and skill achieved by the participating units and their ability to execute all joint tasks with high efficiency, appropriate to the nature of the missions assigned to those units.

The exercise served as a rich environment for mutual field and tactical experiences, contributing to enhancing the combat and technical readiness of the forces involved from both sides. (Source & Photo © Egyptian Ministry of Defense)
