Egypt’s Commander-in-Chief Inspects Airbase, Air Defense Formation

General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, inspected an airbase in the presence of Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the Commanders of the main branches, and a number of senior military leaders.

This visit comes as part of the field follow-up to the units and formations of the Armed Forces to assess their readiness and combat preparedness for carrying out assigned missions.

The Commander-in-Chief toured a ground exhibition featuring several multi-role aircraft and fighters. He received a detailed briefing on the latest combat systems, weapons, and aviation equipment with which these aircraft are equipped.

He also engaged with several pilots, discussing their planning and execution methods for missions tasked with safeguarding Egypt’s airspace under various conditions, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Additionally, he observed the takeoff of several fighter jets carrying out a training mission, which demonstrated the capability and efficiency of Air Force personnel in performing their duties with precision and high proficiency.

General Abdel Mageed Saqr also visited an aerial combat training course involving Egyptian Air Force personnel and participants from friendly and allied countries. He welcomed the pilots from participating nations, emphasizing the Armed Forces’ commitment to fostering military cooperation and exchanging expertise with allied and friendly countries. A series of joint air sorties were conducted, showcasing the ability to execute combined air operations effectively.

The Commander-in-Chief met with Air Force personnel, and the meeting began with a speech by Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mahmoud Fouad Abdel-Gawad, who reaffirmed the Air Force's capability to secure the nation’s borders and defend Egypt’s skies and sacred land amid current challenges.

The Commander-in-Chief further inspected one of the Air Defense Forces formations. The visit was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Commanders of the main branches, and several senior military leaders. This field inspection aimed to assess the readiness and combat preparedness of the Armed Forces.

During the visit, the Commander-in-Chief observed various training activities carried out by Air Defense units and inspected the personnel participating in these operations. He engaged with several commanders and officers, discussing how they execute their tasks in alignment with their specialized roles. He also toured the Joint Tactical Command Center, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the plans and measures implemented to secure the airspace within the formation's operational area. Additionally, he observed a simulated response to a hostile attack, demonstrating the high level of combat readiness among the Air Defense personnel.

As part of the visit, the Commander-in-Chief met with a group of Air Defense personnel. The meeting began with a speech by Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Toudi, Commander of the Air Defense Forces, who emphasized the unwavering commitment of Air Defense personnel to maintaining peak combat readiness under all circumstances. He highlighted the advanced technological capabilities of the Air Defense Forces, which enable them to safeguard Egypt’s skies and secure its airspace as part of the Armed Forces’ integrated combat system.

General Abdel Mageed Saqr conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the Air Defense fighters. He reaffirmed the General Command’s dedication to continuously developing combat training plans and programs based on well-researched scientific principles. He stressed that the combat personnel represent the true asset of the Armed Forces and serve as the backbone of national defense and the preservation of Egypt’s sanctities.

In his address, the Commander-in-Chief discussed ongoing regional developments and their impact on Egypt’s national security amidst the rapid changes in the region.
