Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense Visits Iraq

Prince Khaild bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense, has visited on Tuesday the Republic of Iraq and met with the Heads of the three Presidencies and the Iraqi Defense Minister.

Prince Khaild bin Salman and the accompanying delegation were received by President Barham Salih of Iraq in Baghdad, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During his meeting with President Salih, Prince Khaild bin Salman conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. Then, Prince Khaild bin Salman discussed with President Salih the brotherly bilateral relations between the two countries and regional issues.

Prince Khaild bin Salman met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kathimi. They discussed the historical ties between the two countries and agreed to further enhance the cooperation through the Saudi-Iraqi Cooperation Council.

Prince Khaild bin Salman also met with Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mohammad Al-Halbosi. They discussed the recent events in the region and in Iraq.

The Deputy Minister of Defense met with Iraqi Minister of Defense Jumah Enad Al-Jebori. They discussed bilateral military cooperation in order to achieve mutual interest between the two armed forces of the countries.

The meetings were attended by Prince Khaild bin Salman’s accompanying officials and officials from the Iraqi side.
