Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. General Mahmoud Freihat said that the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army should demonstrate the highest degree of readiness, vigilance and caution, Petra news agency reported.

He stressed in a meeting with top army officers that the current conditions and challenges facing the Kingdom, as well as developments at the domestic and international levels, necessitate more caution, awareness and anticipation of all possibilities.

“We have to realize that our country is targeted, and therefore, we are required to deny those willing to tamper with Jordan’s security and stability, with the opportunity to do so to ensure that Jordan will continue to enjoy credibility in dealing with all countries and international organizations as the Kingdom is a suitable place for investment and tourism,” he added.

The Army Chief reviewed a number of issues of concern to the armed forces in the field of operations, training, rehabilitation, armament, cooperation with brotherly and friendly armies and the exchange of expertise and knowledge through joint cooperation and holding joint drills.

“Jordan’s relations with world countries enabled the Jordan armed forces to establish participatory relations with various armies,” he noted, adding that such cooperation reflected positively on the armed forces in terms of armament and training, and enabled it to fully carry out its tasks, operational duties and humanitarian roles.
