Kuwait’s Amir Pays Visits to Ministry of Defense, National Guard Headquarters

HH the Amir of Kuwait, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, paid visits on Monday to the Ministry of Defense and the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) Headquarters.

Accompanied by HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, HH the Amir was received by senior military and security officials at both institutions.

At the Ministry of Defense, HH the Amir was welcomed by Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshal Mubarak Al-Sabah and Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Kuwait Army Air Vice Marshal Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

In his speech, HH the Amir congratulated the ministry’s personnel on the holy month of Ramadan, praying for blessings upon the Arab and Islamic nations. He expressed pride in the Armed Forces as the cornerstone of Kuwait’s security, stability, and independence, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

HH the Amir emphasized the importance of enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of the armed forces to fulfill their sacred duties in protecting the nation by air, sea and land. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing military readiness, improving armament and ensuring alignment with modern technological standards.

Extending condolences to the families of martyrs who lost their lives in a recent live ammunition exercise, he wished the injured a speedy recovery. HH the Amir also acknowledged the Defense Ministry’s role in preparing national cadres, fostering loyalty, and enhancing coordination between state institutions, including security forces and emergency services.

He further highlighted Kuwait’s humanitarian contributions, particularly the Air Force’s role in delivering aid to war-affected countries. Stressing the significance of military education and cybersecurity, HH the Amir directed the Armed Forces to focus on digital safety and technological advancements in cybersecurity.

Deputy Chief of General Staff Sheikh Sabah, speaking on behalf of the Defense Minister and Ministry personnel, extended Ramadan greetings to HH the Amir and praised the continued humanitarian efforts of the Armed Forces. The visit concluded with a recital of a poem by Major Dhari Meshal Al-Bogan, which was well received by attendees.

Later, at the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) Headquarters, HH the Amir was received by KNG Chief Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, KNG Deputy Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Sabah and KNG Undersecretary Lt Gen Hashim Al-Refai. He commended the National Guard’s decades of service and achievements, congratulating its personnel on Ramadan and acknowledging their dedication to defending the homeland, supporting security services, and protecting vital state institutions.

HH the Amir praised the Guard’s collaboration with key state entities such as the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Ministry of Public Works, Kuwait Oil Tanker Company and Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company. He also lauded the Guard’s military exercises, including the Nasr 20 Command Center Exercise (CPX) conducted in cooperation with the UAE, Bahrain and the UK, as well as its commitment to good governance and social responsibility initiatives.

Reaffirming his support for military, security and civil institutions, HH the Amir urged the National Guard to integrate advanced technologies, enhance infrastructure, expand military training and incorporate helicopters into its operations.

KNG Undersecretary Al-Refai expressed gratitude for HH the Amir’s support and pledged continued commitment to Kuwait’s security and stability. The visit concluded with the presentation of a commemorative gift to HH the Amir.
