Oman’s Minister for Defense Affairs Receives US, UK Officials

Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman received in his office at Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj General Joseph L. Votel, Commander of the US Central Command (photo) and his accompanying delegation, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The two sides reviewed fields of the existing military cooperation between the Sultanate and the United State of America (USA). They also discussed several matters of common concern between the two friendly countries.

The meeting was attended by Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al-Ra’eesi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), the US Ambassador to the Sultanate and the delegation accompanying the guest.

For his part, General Sultan bin Mohammed al-Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office received in his office the Commander of the US Central Command.

General al-Nu’amani welcomed General Votel and his accompanying delegation. On his turn, the US guest expressed his thanks and appreciation to General al-Nu’amani.

The Commander of the US Central Command affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance all frames of the existing cooperation between the Sultanate and the friendly United States of America (USA). Conversations were exchanged and joint issues were discussed during the meeting to achieve interests of the two friendly countries.

The meeting was attended by the USA Ambassador to the Sultanate.

The Omani Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs also received Lt. General John Lorimer, Defense Senior Advisor for the Middle East in the United Kingdom (UK) and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides reviewed fields of the existing military cooperation between the two friendly countries. They also discussed several issues of common concern.

Lt. General John Lorimer and his accompanying delegation were also received by General Sultan bin Mohammed al-Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office of the Sultanate.

The two sides exchanged conversations. They discussed aspects of the joint cooperation between the two countries. They also reviewed the march of historic relations.

The UK Defense Senior Advisor for Middle East expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Sultanate.

The meeting comes within the framework of the preparations of both the Sultanate and the friendly United Kingdom to execute the Swift Sword 3 Exercise.
