On April 27, 2023, the Military Technological College (MTC) of Oman and the OQ Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Air Commodore (Engineer) Mohamed bin Aziz Al Siyabi, the Dean of MTC, signed the agreement on behalf of the college, while Mr. Talal bin Hamid Al-Awfi, the CEO of OQ Group, signed for the group, MTC said in a statement.
The MoU deals with cooperation in the fields of research and innovation, in addition to specialized training programs. It also comes within the framework of boosting cooperation with the local community and in accordance with the requirements of academic accreditation from the Omani Association for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education, Oman News Agency (ONA) noted.
During the visit, the OQ Group representatives were given a comprehensive brief about the college’s facilities, curriculum, technical disciplines, and stages of study. They also visited the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) section (Metaverse), which features modern and advanced technologies.
At the conclusion of the visit, the visiting delegation gave a speech of honor and exchanged gifts.
Established under the directives of His Majesty, the Late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Military Technological College (MTC) aims at integrating technological education with military training in order to be a significant tributary to the Ministry of Defence and the arms of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other military and security apparatuses in Oman.
