The Royal Army of Oman (RAO), represented by Musandam Security Force, and the Royal Special Force of the Kingdom of Bahrain conducted last week a joint practical demonstration codenamed “Al Nimr Al Arabi” or “Arabian Tiger 4”.
The exercise, implemented with backing from the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), was held under the auspices of Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO).
The drill was attended by Brigadier General Yasser Mohammed Al Ma’awdah, Commander of the Special Operations Battalion 24 of the Royal Bahraini Special Force, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The practical demo took place at the Combat Training Unit in built-up and mountainous areas in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate. In that terrain, the participating forces put to practice their preset plans and achieved their training objectives. The participants showed a high level of performance, morale and combat ability that exhibited harmony in conducting such joint drills.
The joint exercise constituted a link in a series of annual training plans and programmes carried out by the RAO - in cooperation with armies of Arab and foreign countries - to perpetuate the combat efficiency of RAO members.
Meanwhile, activities of the naval drill “Asad Al Bahar” or “Sea Lion” 2/2024, implemented by the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) in the Sea of Oman, began Wednesday.
The naval drill, conducted with support of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) jets and the Royal Oman Police Coast Guard, runs till 26 September.
The execution of this naval drill comes within the framework of the RNO training plans aimed to sustain the level of readiness of its fleet and personnel, in line with the national tasks entrusted to it.
