Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, received on Sunday, Lebanese Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun.
During a meeting at General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF), Huneiti discussed with General Aoun, the aspects of joint cooperation and coordination in various fields, in addition to the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, aimed to serves interests of the two brotherly countries’ Armed Forces.
Huneiti also stressed the importance of the two countries’ “strategic” partnership, stressing the need to intensify efforts to achieve security and peace in the region, Petra news agency reported.
For his part, General Aoun expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s “pivotal” role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and its role in supporting the humanitarian and relief efforts in Lebanon during the current circumstances.
Meanwhile, under Royal directives, two C130 humanitarian aid planes affiliated with Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) departed Sunday for Lebanon.
The two aircrafts, which were dispatched by the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), in coordination with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), carry food and relief supplies, medicines and medical supplies, bringing the total number of Jordanian humanitarian aid planes sent to Lebanon to 14.
The Jordanian aid aims to support some sectors in Lebanon to overcome their current difficult circumstances due to the shortage of these materials, based on the Kingdom’s humanitarian and national duty, according to a JAF statement.
Additionally, Jordanian citizens will return onboard one of the two planes to the Kingdom, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
