Lockheed Martin will display and demonstrate its diverse defense and technology programs at the fifth annual Bahrain International Airshow hosted at Sakhir Air Base from 14-16 November 2018.

Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamed bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, the biennial Airshow is a world-class platform for businesses to engage with key industry players and exhibit innovative services and products to the international aviation community.

Lockheed Martin began its partnership with Bahrain more than 40 years ago with the delivery of the L-1011 TriStar commercial airliner. Since then, Lockheed Martin has deepened and evolved this partnership to include robust security and technology solutions to strengthen the Kingdom’s sovereignty. The company is growing its on-ground presence in the region in line with local partner requirements, led by regional Chief Executive Robert Harward, whose role was expanded earlier this year.

“Our enduring relationship with the Kingdom of Bahrain is anchored in our deep commitment to support the leadership in ensuring the safety and security of its people through proven performance, partnership and innovation,” Harward said.

“The Bahrain International Airshow offers Lockheed Martin a valuable opportunity to connect and engage with our local partners, as well as to showcase our wide range of flexible, advanced technological capabilities,” he added.

Bahrain was the first Gulf country in the region to acquire the F-16 aircraft. The current F-16 Block 70 procurement will enable the Kingdom to achieve another regional first -with the addition of the F-16 Block 70, the most advanced and affordable 4th Generation fighter in the world. Most recently, Bahrain became the 18thnation to select the C-130J Super Hercules to support its tactical airlift needs with the acquisition of two C-130Js.

As a Gold Sponsor of the Airshow this year, Lockheed Martin’s participation will also include aerial demonstrations of the F-16 fighter jet. Lockheed Martin will be exhibiting other cutting-edge defense solutions that enable both land-based and airborne precision at Chalet A-28 and stand C-02 inside the Bahrain International Airshow Exhibition Center.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 100,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. This year the company received three Edison Awards for ground-breaking innovations in autonomy, satellite technology and directed energy.
