His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Sakhir Palace Sunday His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, in the presence of Personal Representative of HM the King His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of the General Sports Authority, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Abdul Mateen.
His Majesty the King and HM Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei reviewed the strong historical relations and ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in various domains. They also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
HM the King praised the successful visit of HM Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will further consolidate bilateral ties. He commended the efforts of HM Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei in fostering bilateral relations at all levels.
HM the King underlined the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to further strengthen relations of cooperation and friendship with Brunei Darussalam in order to achieve the aspirations of the leaderships of both countries and their peoples.
HM Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei expressed his happiness about visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain and meeting HM the King. He thanked HM the King for the gracious welcome and hospitality, expressing keenness on perpetual development of bilateral relations.
Furthermore, His Majesty King Hamad and His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah also paid a visit to the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Royal Guard, accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen.
They were received by the BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant-General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Royal Guard Special Force Commander Staff Colonel HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and other senior officials.
The national anthems of the two countries were played, then Lt-Gen. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa gave a briefing about the Royal Guard's duties and future development plans. Commemorative gifts were also exchanged on this occasion.
HM the King and HM the Sultan of Brunei then watched a number of military exercises, with the participation of Staff Colonel HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Abdul Mateen.
HM the King welcomed HM the Sultan of Brunei in one of the edifices of the Bahraini Armed Forces, hailing solid fraternal relations, particularly joint military and security cooperation between the two countries.
HM the King appreciated the fruitful efforts made by Lt-General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Abdul Mateen.
He also commended the participation of Staff Colonel HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Abdul Mateen in the military exercise which was conducted by the Royal Guard affiliates.
He also commended the efforts of all affiliates of the Royal Guard, hailing their dedication in fulfilling their national duties with utmost competence, along with all BDF servicemen.
HM Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam signed the visitors' book expressing his delight at visiting the Royal Guard. He further praised the military exercises which reflect the combat capabilities of the Bahrain Defence Force, led by HM the King, the Supreme Commander.
